French toast with coffee on an open fire

This luxury breakfast is easy to prepare outdoors, or served as a delicious dessert pan – French toast and coffee made in a pot over the fire are always a good choice. Preparation is quicker when you mix the batter and cinnamon sugar at home.

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • 3 dl milk
  • 1 dl wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 g sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 10 slices of white bread
  • Butter for frying

Cinnamon mix:

  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Toppings:

  • Cream cheese
  • Berry jam, e.g. raspberry or strawberry

Coffee on an open fire:

  • About 1.0 l water
  • About 2 dl of ground coffee

Step by step:

Whisk milk, flour, eggs, salt and sugar into a smooth batter.

 

Dip the bread slices into the batter and cook them in butter on both sides until golden brown.
Sprinkle cinnamon mix over them and serve with berry jam and cream cheese.

 

1. Boil the water.
2. Add coffee grounds.
3. Do not boil – let the coffee grounds sink to the bottom.
4 Enjoy!
