Description

The Mari pressure cooker is safe and easy to use. When using the pressure cooker, there’s no need for separate pressure equalisation, so the lid can be opened at any time for adding ingredients requiring different cooking times, spices or simply for tasting the food being cooked. The two-handed lid is easy to open and close with just one hand. The cooker shortens the cooking time by up to 50 percent. In addition to the fact that the food is prepared quickly – it also preserves the flavors and vitamins of the food.

Fast and healthy cooking!

  • Cooking time is reduced by up to 50%
  • Safe and easy to use – no need to equalise the pressure
  • The lid can be opened at any time to add ingredients or spices
  • Preserves flavours and vitamins
  • Saves energy

Note! This pressure cooker pot has a lower pressure than a usual one. The pressure cooker works like ordinary pressure cookers. The tight lid creates pressure inside the pot, making it possible to increase the cooking temperature to above 100 degrees Celsius. This cooks the ingredients faster. Unlike conventional pressure cookers, you can open the lid of Mari Easy Pressure Cooker at any time during cooking without separate pressure equalisation. You can add ingredients that need different cooking times at the right time in the pot and easily taste and season the food while cooking. When the lid is closed, the steam valve in the lid equalises pressure inside the pot and lets excess steam out, preventing the cooker from boiling over. The cooker is safe to use, and thanks to a back-up valve, its lid will not get stuck. Also, the lid can be opened and close using one hand – either one.

The pressure achieved in the Mari Easy Pressure Cooker does not exceed 0.1 bar; it works at a considerably lower pressure than conventional pressure cookers. Mari Easy Pressure Cooker cooks food 50% faster by combining a slightly higher temperature than in normal cooking, slight overpressure and an airtight lid that keeps steam inside the pot. In other word, the benefit in cooking time is achieved with slight overpressure, heat of a little over 100 degrees and steam.

Mari Easy Pressure Cooker is suitable for day-to-day cooking to make the food cook faster. In addition, cooking with a pressure cooker consumes less energy, with the food prepared using lower power in a shorter time. In addition to faster simmering, the pot is, therefore, well suited for also rapidly cooking side dishes, such as potatoes or vegetables. In a pressure cooker, you can brown or sauté the ingredients before closing the lid, meaning that you will not need a separate frying pan and can make sure that all the flavours are preserved in the food.

Read the following instructions carefully before first use.

General instructions

  • Like other cookware, a pressure cooker must be cleaned carefully before taking into use. Wash with hot water, rinse with clean water and dry well.
  • Make sure that the pressure valve is not stuck and moves with ease.
  • Check that the gasket is intact and has no cracks.

Tip! The gasket can harden and begin to leak over time. The gasket has to be replaced if steam begins to leak from its edges.

Cooking

  • Fill the cooker with the desired amount of food. Make sure that there is at least 0.2 l (ø 20 cm) or 0.3 l (ø 24 cm) of liquid or cooking oil in the cooker so that it will not overheat and cause damage.
  • If the food volume increases, fill the cooker halfway at the most (maximum filling mark 1). For other foods, at the most to 2/3 volume (maximum filling mark 2).
  • Close the lid by pushing the buttons on both sides of the handle with one hand at the same time. Place the lid downright to the recesses in the cooker edge and press it lightly closed. Next, release both buttons and make sure that the marks do not remain visible – the cooker is now airtight and you can start cooking.
  • Put the cooker on the stove and start by using the highest temperature.
  • Reduce the stove temperature immediately once the liquid boils or food begins to brown. The setting is correct when steam is discharged through the pressure valve.

Adjust the heat as necessary

  • Only a small amount of steam may come through the pressure valve.
  • The food may boil only lightly.
  • You can open the lid and add spices or liquid at any time. Open the lid by pressing the cooker lightly while simultaneously pressing both buttons of the handle with one hand.
  • The silicone shield of the pressure valve collects water droplets formed by steam.

Opening the lid

You can open the lid at any time, similar to when using other cookware.

Important:
The more frequently the lid is opened during cooking, the longer the cooking time and lower energy-savings. The pressure stays even when the steam valve works. This prevents hazards that an increase in pressure could cause in the use of the pressure cooker. The lid of the new Mari Easy Pressure Cooker is very easy to keep in operating condition. Always follow the cleaning instructions below to enjoy your cooker for a long time.

Cleaning the lid

Always clean all parts after use:

  • Wash all parts with hot water and washing-up liquid.
  • Rinse the parts with clean water.
  • Dry off all water droplets from all parts.
  • If the pressure valve under the lid gets stain, you can twist it off, clean and twist back on.

You can easily disassemble the lid and clean the gasket thoroughly: Remove the slotted nuts under the lid. Open the lid fasteners by pressing the lid closing mechanism. You can now remove the glass plate. After that, the gasket is easy to replace. The valves are easy to disassemble and clean. Fasten the lid handle shield by clicking it in place; it is also easy to remove.

Tips

  • The lid part is hand-washable, do not wash in a dishwasher.
  • The pot part is easy to wash in a dishwasher.
  • The gasket must not be washed in a dishwasher, as that can cause premature hardening.
  • If scraps are hard to remove, soak the parts first in washing-up liquid and water.
  • You can also remove particularly difficult scraps with a wooden spatula and substances intended for cleaning steel pots, such as Opa Multicleaner or a soap pad.
  • A gasket that has seen regular use should be replaced once a year.

Storage

  • Do not store the Mari Easy Pressure Cooker with the lid closed. Condensation can cause unpleasant odours or damage to the cooker parts.
  • Do not store the gasket folded or twisted.
  • If the handle fastening screws become loose, tighten them with a suitable screwdriver.
