Chicken in pressure cooker

The recipe yields the best results when cooking with the  Mari Easy Pressure Cooker .

  • 1 whole broiler chicken
  • 1 broth cube
  • 5 bay leaves
  • 5 peppers
  • 8 dl water
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • a little cream
  • 1 tbsp grain mustard

Put the whole broiler chicken in the pressure cooker, top with pepper, water, beef stock cube and bay leaves. Close the lid and turn on the stove. When you hear the water boiling, lower the heat.

The chicken is cooked in about 30–40 minutes. Turn off the stove, open the lid and lift out the broiler chicken. Melt the butter in another pot and add in the flour. Whisk and gradually add the chicken broth through a strainer. Whisk thoroughly to avoid lumps. Once all the broth has been added, heat the sauce so that it slowly boils and the wheat flour cooks.

Meanwhile, remove the meat off the bones of the slightly cooled chicken and cut into appropriately sized pieces. When the sauce has boiled for a while, add in the cream and mustard. Stir and taste. Serve the sauce with chicken, rice and peas.
